Where to check IGNOU results
IGNOU publishes results on its official student portal at ignou.ac.in. There are two separate places to check depending on what you want to see.
- Term-end exam (TEE) results
- Available at results.ignou.ac.in. Shows your theory exam marks.
- Assignment marks
- Available on your grade card at gradecard.ignou.ac.in. Shows Tutor Marked Assignment marks.
- Complete grade card
- Shows both assignment marks and exam marks together, plus overall grade.
Step-by-step: check your IGNOU result
Step 1: Open the official portal
Go to results.ignou.ac.in in your browser. This is the official IGNOU results page — not a third-party site.
Step 2: Select your programme
Choose the programme you enrolled in from the dropdown list (BCA, MBA, BA, etc.).
Step 3: Enter your enrolment number
Type your 9- or 10-digit enrolment number exactly as it appears on your ID card. Do not use your registration number or application number.
Step 4: Submit and view your result
Click Submit. Your result will appear with course codes, assignment marks, exam marks, and total marks for each course.
What the result shows
Your grade card shows three columns for each course: the assignment marks (30%), the term-end exam marks (70%), and the weighted total. The total is what determines whether you pass.
- Assignment marks
- Out of 100. Usually appear 30-45 days after submission.
- Exam marks
- Out of 70. Published 6-8 weeks after the term-end exam.
- Total
- Weighted: assignment/3 + exam*0.7 (roughly: 30% + 70%).
- Grade
- A (80-100), B (65-79), C (55-64), D (45-54), E (< 45).
What to do when assignment marks are missing
Assignment marks should appear within 30-45 days of submission. If they do not appear after 60 days:
- Check that you wrote the correct enrolment number on the front page.
- Check that the course code on the front page matches the assignment you submitted.
- Confirm you submitted at the correct study centre.
- Visit your study centre with the stamped receipt and ask for the submission record.
- If the centre confirms your submission was received, contact your regional centre.
Re-evaluation and re-checking
If you believe your exam marks are incorrect, you can apply for re-evaluation. IGNOU allows re-evaluation within 30 days of the result declaration. The fee is Rs. 1000 per course.
