Why generate it instead of writing it

Most IGNOU students submit between four and eight courses in a cycle, and every one of them needs its own cover page carrying the same name, enrolment number, and study centre details. Writing that out by hand eight times is where transcription errors creep in — and a mistyped enrolment number is the usual reason assignment marks never reach a grade card.

This generator keeps your student details on your own device. Save them once, then change only the course code, course title, and assignment code for each subsequent download.

What the study centre needs to see

Regional centre guidelines require the first page of every assignment to carry your name, enrolment number, study centre code, course code, mobile number, and email ID. This tool includes those, plus the programme and session fields most centres also expect.

Printing and attaching it

  1. Print on A4 at 100% scale. Do not use “fit to page”, which shrinks the margins.
  2. Sign the page by hand after printing. A typed signature is not a signature.
  3. Place it on top of your handwritten answers as the first sheet.
  4. For online submission, scan it as page one of a single PDF for that course, followed by your ID card, the question paper, and your answers.

Frequently asked questions

Is this front page accepted by IGNOU study centres?
IGNOU does not mandate one design. What it mandates is the set of identifying details. This layout carries every field listed in regional centre submission guidelines, so it is accepted where no centre-specific template is prescribed. If your regional centre publishes its own cover page, use theirs.
Can I type my name in Hindi?
Not in the generated PDF. It uses the standard PDF fonts, which cannot encode Devanagari, so Hindi characters are dropped. Write your name in the Latin alphabet, or print a blank layout and fill that field by hand.
Are my details sent anywhere?
No. The PDF is generated inside your browser and, if you choose to save your details, they are stored only in that browser’s local storage. Clearing them removes them entirely.
Do I need a separate front page for every course?
Yes. Each course is recorded against its own course code. Save your details, change the course fields, and download once per course.
What should I name the file for online submission?
The tool names it using your enrolment number and course code, which matches the convention most regional centres ask for. Rename it if your centre specifies something different.
