How to check your IGNOU grade card
IGNOU runs three grade-card forms. Opening the wrong one returns a blank page even when your marks exist.

The three grade-card forms
The university keeps separate lookup pages for different programme families. The host is always gradecard.ignou.ac.in. The form you submit is the part that changes.

How to read one row
- Asgn / assignment
- Tutor Marked Assignment mark. Empty means it has not been posted yet.
- Term-end theory
- The written TEE paper. This is not the course total.
- Lab / practical / project
- Only some courses have these columns. A dash is normal when the course has none.
- Status
- Completed only when every required component is present and passed.
The screen says the status is indicative. It is not the final printed grade card issued after you finish the programme. Print-to-PDF is fine for your file. It is not a degree.
Turn those numbers into a percentage
Most theory courses use 30% assignment and 70% exam. Letters on some cards are ranges, not one number.

- The assignment mark is still blank — the most common reason after you already sat the exam.
- You passed theory but missed a practical, viva or project.
- You used a different enrolment digit on the assignment cover page, so the mark sat on another record.
- You opened the wrong portal, so this row is not your row at all.
Wait 30 to 45 days after a stamped submission before you chase the study centre. Bring the receipt. Recheck the cover-page enrolment number first.
Grade card is not the TEE result PDF
After a term-end exam, IGNOU sometimes posts a result list or PDF for that session. That file is theory marks for the papers you sat. The grade card is the running record: assignments, practicals, projects, and whether the course is finished.
Use the result PDF to see if a paper was evaluated. Use the grade card to see if the course is done. Do not stop at the PDF if the assignment column is empty.
