How to download the IGNOU hall ticket

The admit card is issued only after the exam form is accepted. A missing course on it usually means the form never listed that paper — not a site glitch.

IGNOU does not keep one permanent admit-card URL. Each Term-End Examination gets a fresh notice on ignou.ac.in. That notice names the download host for that cycle.

  • For many recent TEEs the form and the ticket both live on ignou.samarth.edu.in — the same login you used to pay the exam fee.
  • Some notices still expose a direct hall-ticket page from the Student Support menu on ignou.ac.in. Use enrolment number and programme code there.
  • Lookalike “hall ticket 2026” blogs that ask for a phone OTP or a fee are not the university.

What to check before you print

Fields that actually matter at the gate
FieldWhy it matters
Name and enrolment numberMust match your IGNOU ID card. A mismatch can stop you at the centre.
Exam centre code and addressYou sit here, not at your study centre, unless they happen to be the same building.
Course codes listedOnly these papers are booked. A code on the date sheet is not enough.
Session (morning / afternoon)The date sheet PDF is the clock. The ticket names the centre.

Centre change after the ticket is issued is almost never allowed. The June 2026 TEE notice stated that in plain language. Plan travel from the address on the PDF, not from a WhatsApp rumour.

What to carry on the day

  • A printed hall ticket. Phone screens are refused at many centres.
  • Your IGNOU identity card. If the card never arrived, take the official digital ID plus a government photo ID.
  • A government photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence, or passport) if the invigilator asks.
  • Blue or black ball pen. Follow the question paper for whether a pencil is allowed in that subject.

Confirm the form before the ticket window

Assignments submitted, exam form paid, hall ticket printed — in that order.

If the download is blank

  • Wait until the notice says the ticket is live. Searching a week early returns nothing.
  • Log in with the Samarth account that paid the fee, not a second email you created later.
  • Clear the browser cache or try another browser. The PDF sometimes sits behind a stale session.
  • If one course is missing, the exam form omitted it. Email the regional centre with the exam-form receipt. Do not assume the centre will add it at the door.

Frequently asked questions

When is the hall ticket released?
Usually in the fortnight before that TEE starts. For June 2026 it appeared in the third week of May. Treat that as a pattern, not a promise. Watch the notice on ignou.ac.in.
Can I sit a paper that is on the date sheet but not on the ticket?
No. The centre admits you for the courses printed on the hall ticket.
Do I need the original IGNOU ID card?
Carry it if you have it. If dispatch is late, take the digital ID from the student portal and a government photo ID. Ask your study centre if they have a local rule.
