How to Fill IGNOU Exam Form Online: Step by Step Guide 2026

Before you start
The IGNOU exam form is for the Term-End Examination (TEE). You must have submitted and had your assignments accepted before filling the exam form. The form is available online at exam.ignou.ac.in.

Step by step: filling the exam form
Step 1: Open the IGNOU exam portal
Go to exam.ignou.ac.in and click on "Student Registration" or "Exam Form".
Step 2: Log in with your credentials
Enter your enrolment number and password (set during admission). If you forgot your password, use the "Forgot Password" option.
Step 3: Select the exam session
Choose the exam session (June 2026 or December 2026) you want to appear for.
Step 4: Select your courses
The portal will show all courses you are eligible for. Tick the courses you want to appear for. Do not select courses you have already passed.
Step 5: Enter your study centre details
Confirm your study centre code and name. These must match your ID card.
Step 6: Upload your photo and signature
Upload a recent passport-size photo and your scanned signature. Both must be in JPG/PNG format, under 100 KB each.
Step 7: Pay the exam fee
The portal will calculate the total fee based on the number of courses you selected. Pay online using your card or net banking.
Step 8: Submit and download the confirmation
Review all details carefully and submit. Download the confirmation page as proof of submission. You will also receive an email confirmation.
After submitting the exam form
- Download your hall ticket from the same portal once it is released (usually 2-3 weeks before the exam).
- Print the hall ticket and carry it to the exam centre along with your original ID card.
- Check the exam date sheet for your courses on the IGNOU website.
- Verify the exam centre, date, and time on your hall ticket carefully.
