The dates IGNOU usually prints first

- June TEE
- Typical first last date: 31 March of that year
- December TEE
- Typical first last date: 30 September of that year
Those dates move. Recent cycles have been extended by weeks. Treat the first published date as the one you write toward, and re-read ignou.ac.in in the fortnight before it.

For most programmes you become ineligible for that course’s term-end exam. You sit the next eligible TEE after you submit. Assignment marks, once awarded, usually remain valid across later TEE cycles within the programme’s registration window — but you still have to submit before you can sit.
Match the session on the question paper
Download the assignment PDF for the session you are enrolled in. Writing last year’s answers and putting this year’s session on the cover page is a mismatch the evaluator will notice. The session on the front page should match the question paper.
