How to check IGNOU assignment status
Marks appear on the grade card, not on a separate “assignment tracking” page. If a course still reads Not Completed after 45 days, start with the enrolment number on the cover page.

Where the status actually lives

IGNOU does not run a public parcel-style tracker for assignments. After evaluation, the mark is written onto your grade card next to the course code. Until then the component shows as incomplete or blank.
Step 1: Open the official grade card
Use the grade-card link on ignou.ac.in with your enrolment number. Ignore lookalike sites that ask for a fee to “check status”.
Step 2: Find the course code
Assignment marks sit beside theory, practical and project columns. A missing assignment is why a course stays Not Completed even after you sat the exam.
How long to wait
Thirty to forty-five days after a centre accepts the bundle is a normal window. Online uploads can take as long — the scan still has to be downloaded and assigned to an evaluator. Checking every day does not speed it up.
If it never updates
- Read the enrolment number on the cover page you submitted. A single wrong digit sends the marks to the wrong record.
- Confirm the course code matches the question paper for that session.
- Take the stamped receipt (or the online acknowledgement) to the study centre coordinator. Without it, they have nothing to search.
- Do not submit a second copy “just in case” unless the coordinator asks. Duplicates create two records.
Fill the exam form only after this
A missing assignment can make you ineligible for that paper even if the exam form accepted the fee.
