How to download IGNOU study material
The blocks are free on eGyankosh. Paying a Telegram seller for “latest soft copy” is how people end up with last year’s file and a drained UPI.

The three official sources

IGNOU also points learners at the eContent / student app ecosystem from ignou.ac.in. Treat that as a second official door, not a replacement for checking eGyankosh when a block is missing in the app.
Using eGyankosh without getting lost
- Prefer the course code that is on your assignment question paper. Programme pages bury old electives.
- Open the item that names your course, then download Block 1, Block 2… separately. One “full book” file on a random host is often incomplete.
- If search fails, browse by school (Humanities, Management, Computer) then programme, then course. The tree is slow. It is accurate.
- Keep the PDF. eGyankosh items get re-uploaded; your offline copy is what you highlight.
If the printed books never arrive
Dispatch runs behind admission in almost every cycle. That does not freeze your assignment last date. Download the PDFs and write. Then chase the parcel.
- Note the date you paid admission or re-registration. Centres ask for it.
- Write to the regional centre with enrolment number, programme, and the address on record. A wrong address is a common cause.
- Ask the study centre whether they hold spare blocks for your course. Some do. Most do not.
Material vs the question paper
Study blocks are not the assignment. The Tutor Marked Assignment PDF is a separate download from the assignments section on ignou.ac.in (or your school’s assignment page). You need both: the block to study, the question paper to answer.
Then write the TMA in the required format
Cover page, handwritten answers, one course per file.
