Re-registration (RR)

You are already enrolled. You pay for the next semester or year of the same programme.

Fresh admission

You do not have an enrolment number yet, or you are starting a different programme. That is a different portal.

Exam form

Permission to sit TEE papers. RR does not replace it. You still fill the exam form when that window opens.

The usual host is onlinerr.ignou.ac.in. Some cycles also surface a button from ignou.ac.in → Register Online → Re-Registration. Land on an ignou.ac.in or ignou.ac.in-linked host. If the URL is a random .in shop, stop.

RR for a July session typically opens in the preceding months and is extended more than once. RR for a January session follows the same pattern on the other half of the year. The first last date is the one to write in your calendar. Extensions are a bonus, not a plan.

• You usually cannot take the next semester’s courses until RR is on file. The exam form for those new codes will not help.
• Courses you already registered in earlier semesters stay on your record. You can still submit leftover assignments and sit leftover papers, subject to the maximum duration of the programme.
• Late RR, when the university allows it, often includes a late fee. Pay it on the official portal only.
• Do not send cash to a coordinator to “put your name in”. That is not how RR is recorded.

Save the confirmation. Printed study material for the new courses, if your programme still posts books, will not start until this payment exists. Assignment question papers for the new codes appear on the assignments section of ignou.ac.in — download them; do not wait for the parcel.
