Can you sit the IGNOU TEE if the assignment is not submitted
A hall ticket is permission to enter the room. It is not a pass in the course. Most theory papers still need a Tutor Marked Assignment on record.

The honest split
Often you can walk into the hall if the exam form was accepted and a hall ticket printed your course code. You usually cannot complete the course without a TMA that the university records for that paper. Those are two different gates.
- Exam form + hall ticket
- Seat and date. Printed after the exam-form window, not after assignment marks post.
- Tutor Marked Assignment
- A required component on most theory courses. Blank TMA keeps the grade card at Not Completed.
- Course complete
- Assignment (and practical / project if any) plus TEE, at the minima your programme guide names.
What study centres actually do
Some centres refuse to forward an exam form if they know the assignment never arrived. Others process the exam form because it is a different portal. Do not treat a neighbour’s story as the ordinance. Ask your study centre, in writing if you can, before you skip the TMA and book a train.
If the assignment last date already passed
Most programmes will not evaluate a TMA for that TEE once the window (including any official extension) has closed. The next chance is the next assignment cycle — often with the next question paper. Read the assignment last-date guide and the exam-form versus assignment dates post before you mix the two calendars.

Submission rulesAfter you write the paper anyway
The TEE result list can show a theory mark while the grade card stays incomplete. That is expected if the assignment column is empty. Revaluation of the script will not create a TMA mark. Submit the assignment in the cycle that still accepts it.
