The syllabus is the programme guide PDF for your code — BAG, BCA, MCA, BCOMG. A blog list of “important units” is not the syllabus.

Where the official syllabus lives
Each programme has a programme guide (sometimes a school PDF) that lists course codes, credits, and which papers have a TMA, practical or project. IGNOU publishes those files on ignou.ac.in and often on eGyankosh. This site does not host a parallel syllabus dump.
Step 1: Search ignou.ac.in for your programme code plus “programme guide”
Use
BCA_NEW,BAG,MCA_NEW— the code on your ID card, not a cousin programme.Step 2: Confirm the year or “revised” mark on the first pages
CBCS BAG is not the same map as an old BA. Downloading the retired guide is how people skip a compulsory course.
Step 3: Write down the course codes for this semester only
You need those codes for the assignment PDF, the exam form and the grade card.
What to actually read in the guide

A synopsis is not a TMA. Do not invent a cover from an assignment generator.
Project and synopsisIf your programme was revised
IGNOU retires codes. You cannot sit a dead paper because a friend still has the old book. The grade card and the current guide together tell you which codes still count. When they disagree, the regional centre in writing is the tie-break — not a Facebook comment.
